So Long 2007!!! Hello 2008!!!

Before we jump fully into the new year, I thought I would quickly post some pictures as a 2007 Finale!

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
After finishing our hectic finals, we left we put up our lovely Christmas tree which we are told brought joy into the hearts of passers by!

This is me and some of the lovely ladies from our annual Girlfriend Christmas party!!! Each year my close friends and I have a Christmas party! It is always wonderful to have excuses to get together expecially with everyones busy schedules! This year we got each other ornaments! It was such a good time!

ViVa LaS VegAS!
To celebrate finals being over Adam and I went to Vegas for the weekend with our very fun friends Marci and Paul (we tried to take a pic of us all in front of The Paris...it kinda worked...)!

Gotta Love the Coca Cola Factory! I think we had more fun than humanly possible!!! Adam and I had never been to here and we had a blast with the taste tests! Would anyone care for a Beverly???

It was extremely cold but we couldn't resist this awesome view!

The Las Vegas Temple
On our way home Sunday, we stopped by the Vegas Temple and walked the grounds. It was such a lovely day and words cannot describe the incredible contrast of feeling one has being on the temple grounds vs. being in the city of sin. I am so earnestly grateful for the temple and for the amazing beauty, peace, and happiness it offers! I cannot think of a better way to end our trip!

Sadly what happens in Vegas didn't stay in Vegas! Paul, Adam and I had the flu for the following week which was an extremely misserable time! Luckily however, we were healed in time for Christmas!

O dead tree...o dead tree...you have no needles on thy branches...

Many of you may recall the delightful picture of our Christmas tree just 4 or 5 pictures above....well just two weeks after that picture was taken, and despite the gallon of water still in the tree stand...our tree gave up the ghost! Adam and I could not stop laughing...All of our ornaments had fallen off and the pine cones and the pine needles. Have you ever seen anything more tragically hillarious?

Santa Bella's Comin' to Town! This is one of my neices...how adorable is that little outfit!!! I can't even stand it!!! She also starred as baby Jesus in the annual grandchild nativity reinactment!

2007 was a wonderful year! Adam and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary in June and I am so amazed at how fast the time flies now that we are halfway to our 2nd anniversary! I love him so much and am so blessed to be married to such an incredible person! In Spring 2007 my lovely parents asked Adam and I if we'd like to move into my grandparents home as they are not quite ready to part with it and living here has been such a blessing! I love this little old house and am so lucky to have such amazing neighbors! Also in 2007 my sisters brought into the world 3 adorable babies!!! We have so much to be grateful for! The past year was not without its challenges when it came to cars and school but I am soooo sooo grateful to my family for the many rides to and from work and for our wonderful friends and family for the thousands of words of encouragement and support. WE LOVE YOU ALL! May 2008 Be a FaNTaStiC YeAr for All of YOU!

"An Adam & Cheri Moment"

This past Sunday we went to my parentals for some good old fashioned Sunday Dinner which is always enjoyable as it is usually the only time Ad and I get to see the fam :) As we walked in the following converstaion insued:

Me: Hey Shellster! How have you been?
Shelli: Ugh, its been a rough week...
Me: Did smoke come out of your stearing wheel?
Shelli: (now laughing) What! SMOKE came out of your stearing wheel!(now...the whole family is laughing)
Me: Yes...little puffs of white smoke coming right out of the stearing wheel. Now what happened to you?
Shelli: Let's just say that we had an 'Adam and Cheri Moment'
Me: OH dear what happened!?

Shelli then proceeded to tell me that they had some random and expensive misgivings that week totalling $1100. After hearing Shelli's sad tale, I couldn't decide which was more sad...her week or the fact that unfortunate events have now been labeled "Adam and Cheri Moments". To be sure we have had our share of 'moments' and thought hey for laughs we'd share some of them with you (notice how pretty much all of them are about our cars!):

1) OUR ultimate Adam and Cheri moment to date was our near death experience with Cottonwood Towing. Our radiator inconveniently went out on our way to go camping and so we used our good old AAA to be towed down the mountain. We waited for over two hours for the tow truck...which apparently could only go 12 mph up hill. When the tow truck arrived it had smoke coming out of it and the aroma of burning clutch filled the air. We had to wait for 30 minutes to cool off the tow truck!!! Anywho...so when we went to load on the blazer, it was bigger than the tow truck and the front wheels of the tow truck began to lift off the ground...we somehow got it loaded...but it was a TIGHT fit. Our adventures sadly didn't end there...The seatbelts didn't work and as we came down the canyon, the driver informed us that the emergency brake wasn't working... As we came out of the canyon and onto a busy road that leads to the freeway entrance the driver informs us that the breaks are completely out and we are heading for the red-lighted intersection and the tow truck doesn't have a horn!!! By a pure miracle we zoomed through the intersections barely missed cars and running into a fence! Due to all of the swerving through traffic and onto grassy knolls, we came to a stop. After the freaking out stopped, we had to unload the blazer, and wait for 2 tow trucks. One for the tow truck and one for the blazer. I am still bitter if you can't tell!!! I know our Heavenly Father was looking out for us--when I think back on it I am amazed that we made it through alive!

2) Our latest experience of smoke coming out of our stearing wheel.

3) The ever constant clicking nose that should only happen when your turning signal is on, has for the past year, been a constant fixture of background noise...

4) On a hot August day as Adam and I were leaving my parents home we heard a crackeling and popping noise. We looked around and couldn't figure out what it was until we both turned around and saw our side-rear/back window spontaneously combust! Shattered class...fabulous eh?

5) 4 weeks ago as I was sitting in the kitchen doing some homework when I saw a little puff of white smoke...I looked around trying to remember if I had lit a candle and turned back to look at our dishwasher that had smoke billowing out of it! Talk about random...needless to say our 40 year old dishwasher died.

6-10) In less than a year Adam and I used up not only my AAA tows (4) for the year but my parents as well! Luckily they gave Adam a membership that restocked us for the rest of the year.

"Adam and Cheri Moment"
Use: (adj.)
Definition: An unfortunate event resulting in untimely LARGE expenses, possible bodily harm, and spontaneous combustion of any type of mechanism...car, dishwasher, etc.

Stay tuned for more Adam and Cheri Moments to come...

Catching Up :)

Dang we look in Spandex!!!

Hello to all :) I thought that I would give everyone some updates on Adam and I starting with the month of October! First, our friends The Martins hosted a Halloween ShinDig and so Adam and I gathered up some INCREDIBLE Costumes! (Adam really loved the full body spandex with built in muscles! Needless to say I owe him one!) The party was tons of fun filled with delish soup in bread bowls, frothing drinks, a costume contest, and a most adventuresome scavenger hunt! It was truly good times!

The next event was the WitCHes NiGht OUT! For those of you not from Salt Lake, each year Gardner Village (a shopping place with rustic/shabby chic shops) hosts an event called "Witches Night Out" and almost everyone goes dressed up in their most ellaborate witch costumes to shop, walk around, eat scrumptious homemade goodies and dance etc... Well one of the funnest things is that the entire place is decorated with these awesome Witches, my mother and my sisters go each year but unfortunately I have never gotten to go till now! Here are some of the pics:

The Pump Shack:Me and the little Ma :)
"Witch Way???"

Our Little Witches Group: (My sister Shelli and some of my neices :)
****The following Saturday Adam and I went to Kelly & Bryant's (my friend from Vienna) wedding reception at Millcreek Inn :) She looked so amazing and it was so much fun to go and see some of my fellow Vienna friends :) I think October was the record for getting together :) We went to dinner earlier in the month as well! Such good times :) I miss them all!!!

Me and the Gorgeous Bride:

Im sure your all wondering how much more I could say!!! LOL well I do have more :) Last week we went to my newest neice's baby blessing! I am so excited for my cute sister Cindy and her hubbie! I can't get over how adorable little Bella is!

Dont you agree!!! ?

Well I feel as if that is plenty for now!!! Love you all and miss you all!

The SWEETest Things!

I Love LIFE! ...well most of the time lately anyway :)--I haven't spent much time thinking about how awesome life is and have been primarily focused on the ridiculously demanding schedules Adam and I have had. I met with one of my 3 English Professors last week and he informed me that I have single-handedly taken on 2 of the most horrid and demanding English Professors in the same semester! That is just SoOOoo like me too! I don't know how to do difficulty in moderation! Needless to say--I have never in my life been so anxious for Christmas break to come! I was talking with my friend Shannon this week and we have decided that its going to be a community effort to get me through this last semester--well...second to last! But with all of the Senior Madness tonight I couldn't be happier!

I took some of my Birthday Monies and bought the new Maroon 5 C.D. and the cutest Colbie Caillat CD :) And let me just say how much I am in love with music! It truly has such a way to put you in the best mood and take you back to amazing moments in your life! Maroon 5 brings back especially delightful memories!!! Me and the lovely Anster, Mariss and Mind ditched out on a Wagner opera in Vienna and went to the Maroon 5 concert! *sigh* SUCH good times...I think it was without a doubt one of the funnest things we did!

I also must say how thankful I am for family!!! My sister Cindy just had her first wee babe on Sept. 26th! I couldn't be more excited!!! Her name is Bella Lyn Hadley and she seriously is so adorable! Which is a good sign...cause new babies are usually unfortunate looking-...like little shriveled old men... and get cuter as they mature--lol--but seriously she is so darling!!! Adam went today to visit...I wish I had pictures...maybe next blog :)

And my last and certainly not least thing that I am grateful for this eve is for all my fellow friends! I love the bloggin-ness too-- Especially the pictures! So many fun things and so many cute little munchkins!!! I just want everyone to know how much I love you all! I hope everyone is having a fabulous evening and since most of you are asleep........Have a wonderful Day!.....when you wake up! <--Perhaps I should have stopped long ago!....and Monika you think you use ellipsis a lot! LOL! We must be related!!!

An EXPLOSIVE Campout

Hey gang...so over the weekend we went with some friends up Big Cottonwood Canyon to the Spruces Campground! It was some seriously goodtimes mixed with some minor catastrophes! First upon getting to the Campground our friends, Kari and Nick, borrowed a Pop-up Tent Trailor...which upon set-up decided to snap a cable! It was seriously so sad! It's worst when bad stuff happens to equiptment on campouts etc...especially when you have borrowed the equiptment! BLAST!!! So Adam and Nick spent the next 1.5-2 hours make-shifting a way to keep the callapsed side up--resulting in some interesting remedies one of which included Adam climbing a tree (much like one of the men you see at the Polynesian Cultural Center retrieving coconuts) in order to secure a rope that was supporting that end!

Catastrophe #2 involved our idiodic camp "neighbors" which consisted of about 8 young men. Needless to say upon starting their campfire with GASOLINE, they proceeded to engulf and entire TREE in FLAMES!!!! My heart seriously stopped! They then put out the fire with their pillows and bodies
+ =

When all is said and done...it was a delightful evening with friends...but our crazy neighbors certainly put a damper on the eve!

School of Rock...or not!?!?!?!

It is official! As of last Tuesday both Adam and I are back in school. The summer was truly too short! But we are making it through! This semester will be very intense as I am taking some truly difficult English classes, but it gives me comfort to know that I am done with ALL English classes this fall! So if it weren't for silly spanish I'd be graduating this fall! Alas!

Adam is still at Salt Lake Community College...he will finish there with his associates in Business in May and then will go on to finish up at the U of U! He has truly been flying through school as he has only been taking classes a year! I suppose it really does pay to have decided what your major is before you go to school after school trying to figure it out! LOL! Im so proud of him! He's so hard working! It will have taken me 5 years to get my Bachelors and he'll have his in 3! He's pretty much amazing! Other than school we haven't really been doing a whole heck of a lot due to the fact that there is not much time once the homework is done to do much else! I seriously can't wait till May to be done and all! Its truly a great time! Wish us luck! I have a feeling that we are going to need all the prayers and all the support that we can get!
